How to play

PLAYERS AND EQUIPMENT

• The game is played one-on-one or in two teams (2 vs 2).
• Each player has 4 throwing bags.
• The cornhole board is placed on the playing area, and players throw from the same direction.

OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME

• The goal is to throw the bean bags onto the board to stay on the surface or go through the hole.
• The game is played to 21 points, using the “cancellation scoring” system.

THROWING RULES

• Players take turns throwing one bag at a time.
• The player must stand in the designated throwing area (behind the foul line).
• After all bags have been thrown, players move to the board to count the points.

SCORING SYSTEM

• A bag that goes through the hole: 3 points
• A bag that lands and stays on the board: 1 point
• A bag that falls off the board or bounces onto it: 0 points
• Cancellation scoring system: Both players calculate their points for the round, and the lower score is subtracted from the higher score (e.g., if Player A scores 6 points and Player B scores 4 points, Player A earns 2 points).

WINNING THE GAME

• The game ends when a player or team reaches exactly 21 points.
• If a player exceeds 21 points, their score is reset to 15, and the game continues.
• If the last thrower reaches 21 points and the opponent has not yet thrown, the opponent has a chance to cancel the score.

ADDITIONAL RULES

• If a bag is hanging on the edge of the hole and falls in before the next throw, it counts as being in the hole.
• If a player steps over the foul line or throws incorrectly, the throw is forfeited, and no points are awarded.
• If a tie occurs (both teams reach 21 points in the same round), the game continues until one team wins.
